LIFE, LOVE, A DATE AND WORK!
A heavy fever with a severe headache and
illness of being lonely under depression, please grant me a day leave! Grace
wrote to her annoying boss, Christopher.
Grace was a typist in the office of
Christopher. She has been working there for a year and his overloaded work upon
Grace, grace always wanted to leave the jib but the thing that stopped her from
doing was the sentiment that he was the only one to give her a job when she
came there with no skills. He gave her a month of training and made her learn
the skills of being a typist and afforded her a small room with his known
people until she got her job permanent and received her first salary.
Whenever
she tries to quit, she remembers the kind heart of his annoying boss and all
her decisions gets washed away with the wind!
Christopher, a 58-year-old man, running his
famous press company in his town, well known for his perfection and his
excellence in his career. No body knows about his family. some day that, he had
a family but his wife left him for he gave no time for her.
Despite being a hectic day and a very important
work on his table, Christopher looked at her message and gave a sigh. Hmm… he
took a deep breath and typed, ‘Okay, leave granted. Take care of your health.
And if any emergency, feel free to ask!
Now, the last sentence, made her heart break
and the guilt rose in her heart. Yes, she lied to him. She wanted to have a
break from this schedule as her mind wanted some fresh air, some nature
sceneries to see and to breathe fresh air and hear the music of the nature for
she was fed up of breathing the air form her air condition in her office,
hearing the chaos in the office and her eyes were fed up of watching the screen
of her computer, typing the documents sent by her senior officers!
Grace now kept her phone aside. She never
mailed him about her leave as other workers do in the office. She was a
favorite person for he was too kind with her and sometimes took care like his
daughter. She kept her phone aside and got out of her bed and got ready to see
the world outside.
It was a special day for her as she was going
to meet her classmate Charles whom she had a crush on. It was a casual meet as
he had come to the city to see the places and her presence there, which was
said my Kate, Grace’s friend who helped Grace from her past trauma made him
connect with her on phone and the decision of fake illness was made by her
without a second thought.
Stuck between the guilt of telling lie to her
boss and the happiness of meeting her long-lost crush, her mind sailed two
boats in the same ocean! She suppressed her guilt when she received a message
from Charles, I have got out and will reach the bakery at 10:45am. Grace
replied to his message and started her journey to the place they decided to
meet.
A bakery near the sea shore and they met and a
great deep hug, they had. They sat and had coffee talking about their lives.
Grace was very secret in revealing about her personal things as she was scared
that her step mother would track her and kill her. Grace has a sorrow filled
past and she fled away from the place. Grace’s father Lawrence married for the
second time; a woman named Jenifer who killed her husband by giving slow poison
in his everyday meal. Grace found this out when he had sent her a letter while
she was in her high school and that was the last letter, he had sent her. His
property was seized by her step mother and wondered if Grace knew about this
murder and Jenifer started searching for Grace. Grace had left the place by
then and started her new life, far away from them.
Uh! I work as a teacher in a near by school.
She said and changed the topic. After several conversations, they got closer
and they were confessed each other about their love. they walked to the sea
shore and talked much more. They finally got attached to each other. There, a
bunch of young women wearing bikini played. They looked at them and upon asking
they realized it was a celebration of the ‘Bikini’ and people wear different patterns
and designs in bikini. Looking at this, he asked her wear one and join the
challenge. She wore one purchased form the road side shop and she looked the
prettiest of all. They all danced, cheered, celebrated the cloth bikini, sang
songs and enjoyed the event. The photographs of them playing were taken and
were given for each as their sweetest memory. It was evening and Grace thanked
him for staying and making her day beautiful. He said that we will meet and
soon be together! And he dropped her home and left the place.
Grace now went to her room and looked at the
bikini she wore and the thoughts about the whole day rolled though her eyes.
Her lips wore the brightest smile that day. She looked at the photograph and remembered
the words he said’ you look the prettiest in this!”
The sun rose, and Grace rushed to her office.
She showed her face to her boss and sat down to work.
Christopher called in to her room asked her
about her health. And gave her the newspaper.
She was stunned to see that she was the very
big poster in bikini for the bikini celebration in her newspaper.
She wondered how he got that and then saw
Charles was the new person in their office.
The boss, herself and Charles, the newspaper,
Grace was finally caught red-handed!
