A VALENTINE DATE WITH ENEMY
A valentine date with your enemy
Woohoo! Valentine month is ahead and I can’t
stop starring at the Paris corner! The
city lights at night and along with that, the beauty of Paris, shining with the
lights lit upon it!
Mark, the taxi driver said, a he drank the
whiskey he had in his hand. Hmm love and woman, never a blessing in my life!
The valentine season, the restaurant filled
with lovers and couple, the old and the young, as love never had an age for
herself! The bunch of flowers, that sold like Gold, the prices peaked high,
like diamond! And there, a couple in their 70s, with stick in their hand walked
to the streets and saw his car.
Feb 14, 12.01 am! The celebration was high and
Mark stood there watching the sky filled with crackers portraying love!
Excuse me, sir! The old man said, as he called
Mark. Mark turned to them and was surprised to see them. Having worn the same-colored
clothes, he understood that they were into valentine celebration.
Sir, it’s so rush here and we didn’t get a palace
to dine. Can we use your taxi to sit and
watch the sky and celebrate our love? the old couple requested.
Having heard their words, he was little
impressed and thought for a while, then smiled and accepted their request. He
agreed.
He made them sit on the face of the car and
they watched the night sky. the place as so crowded with noises and yet, Mark
had his eyes on the couple, falling in love with their love.
Toothless and they laugh! And their hands
shivering with the stick they hold, he was into love and walked to a place and
looked at the sky, closed his eyes and wondered, ‘What a privilege to experience
love and what a privilege to have a woman to love and to be loved by her!” uh! hmm.
love is not for all, right? he gave a
deep breath.
He looked at the old couple admiring from a
distance. As he shifted his eye, he saw a florist. he went to him and brought a
bunch of roses, walked to the old man to give it to her. the old man saw this
and said, I had already gifted her and they all smiled at each other.
Just then, a young girl in her 20s reached
their place. Yellow frock and a long hair, her eyes were sharp as she stared at
the old couple. A hall of silence, all of them had and Mark was confused who
was this pretty girl.
Uh! Grandma and grandpa, how many times I have
told you not to go out without informing? She charged at them.
I wrote a letter before I left! He replied.
Errr! This isn’t 1950s! you should have called.
you have been given a phone for that! She said as she took the phone and saw
the 10 missed calls by her.
Hmm…look grandpa. She showed him and then she
called her parents and informed them.
It’s a great night, isn’t Mrs. Lawrence? The
grandpa asked the grandma and they were into love. The words of her grand
daughter never went into their mind.
Mark and Jane, the granddaughter exchanged eye
contacts. A hall of shock as he was her worst enemy who once denied to drop her
at her home as she had not given him the exact amount of money. Jane and mark
recognized each other and kept silence. Jane didn’t talk a lot as Mark was by
their side. She saw Mark’s hand filled with bunch of roses. And gave a look at
him.
Just then, the grandpa said,’ Give those
flowers, took a rose from it and then looked at the moon and chanted a prayer,
gave the rose back to Mark and said, you will find your girl very soon.
It’s a prayer to The Moon and a belief that she
will bring the girl if we pray to her when she is full as she is honored as a
form of woman. He said, the girl who will fall on your arms will be the girl,
who will rest on your chest, all night, your soulmate!
Mark smiled and had no words to tell as he was
in the line between belief and a never going to happen phase.
Together, the four, saw the stars sparkle, the Paris
shining with the lights, and the car became their beautiful home.
The cool drink brought from the nearby shop,
the music played from their phones made the night, the sweetest melody of the
night. valentine’s day! Well celebrated. The people left the place and
gradually silence was there. Ah! time for us to leave! The grandpa said. Mark
asked them, I can drop you home.
No, its fine. Our house is just a 15 min walk.
The grandpa said. Upon asking thrice, he disagreed and Mark said that he will
accompany them to their home for safety.
And then, the four of them walked. Dark nights
and the streets filled with street lights, they four walked. The grandma and
grandpa sang their old songs and cherished their walk and the two young
followed them from behind. Silence was there between them stitched with eye
contacts at certain intervals of time.
They neared their home and the grandpa pointed
out, this is my home and they walked towards it. Just then. Jane slipped and
fell upon him and in a rush of getting up, her chain got stuck in his and the
scene became worse. The dark night and the dim lights and their chains tangled
into each other’s, in the phase of freeing themselves, their lips accidentally
met! Softest cushion! Their skin experienced for the first time. A moment of
silence and pausing themselves, they came back to their senses, jane pulled in
a cruel way and her locket got detached from the chain. She ran to her home and
saw him through the balcony of her room upstairs.
Mark got
up from his place, took the locket in his hand and walked the way to his
taxi.
He looked at the moon and said, Love found me!
